Assessment. Presentation at the NCELP online conference, 20 November 2020

Presentation on Assessment at 'An Introduction to NCELP' online conference, held on Friday 20 November 2020.

How do we know whether the pupils are getting it? In this session we will consider how best to assess pupil progress and share NCELP's dual approach to testing: the use of “achievement tests” that focus on assessing specific bodies of knowledge (phonics, vocabulary and grammar) and the more holistic “applying your knowledge” tests. What do these different tests look like and how might assessment fit into existing school reporting structures?

Speaker: Stuart Williams, NCELP Specialist Teacher and Assistant Headteacher and teacher of German and Maths at Dartford Grammar School in Kent.
