·      NCELP alignment with wider policy


The documents in this collection are useful for teachers, Heads of Departments and Senior Management who wish to see how NCELP Schemes of Work, resources and rationales align with important policy documents and influential thinking on pedagogy. This collection includes how NCELP aligns with the Department for Education Early Career Framework reforms, with the new draft GCSE subject content for French, German and Spanish and with the new Ofsted framework, as well as with the Barack Rosenshine’s Principles of Instruction

·        Phonics Collection

 
This collection is useful for any teachers or departments that don’t currently teach phonics, or who want to extend their own resources for so doing. The collection brings together all the resources created so far for the teaching and practising of each SSC (sound-symbol correspondence). For easy reference, there is an excel spreadsheet within the collection, with a list of each of the SSC listed in the draft GCSE grammar appendices, and hyperlinks to each resource.  Go to collection.

·        Exemplar Activities Collection

 
This collection is useful for any teachers wishing to customise NCELP resources to fit with their own teaching aims and language requirements. A spreadsheet contains sheets with details of all the exemplar activities, categorised by strand: phonics, vocabulary and grammar. There are links to each activity, accompanied by a short description and brief details of the types of exercises involved.  Go to collection

 

·        Cultural Collection


This collection is useful for teachers wishing to see how and where cultural content is integrated into the NCELP Schemes of Work (SOW) and lesson resources. The slides included are standalone examples and may serve as templates and ideas for teachers looking to use other poems, songs, extracts of stories in their own lessons and SOW, and what activities can be done to exploit such texts.  Go to collection

·         NCELP rationales, research and guidance

 

NCELP's approach to the various aspects of language learning and teaching aims to be evidence-based wherever possible. We also strive to be open about our sources and transparent about our decision-making. This collection brings together documents that lay out the rationale for our approaches to particular topics, such as phonics or vocabulary learning. The documents contain explanations, background information, as well as references to the research that informed our choices. Go to collection

 

·         NCELP professional development materials

 

NCELP provides a program of professional development activities to our specialist teachers and the hub schools in our network through residentials and teacher research groups (TRGs). This collection holds all materials from these sessions and includes powerpoint presentations about the theory supporting the pedagogy, as well as sample teaching materials.
